Say Cheese!, Shirota, Tamaki-chan!, Yuu!~, Tezuka Kunimitsu

I just finished reading some books for my Argumentative Research Paper (ARP) for English 11. It was a good thing that 2 out of the three topics I presented were approved by my professor. During our consultation time, I still didn't get to decide which of the two did I really want to do a research on, so he told me to go back tomorrow and show him 5 readings/sources. I tried doing both, but I decided to do the third proposal I had, which concerns President Ferdinand Marcos. I'm going to prove that despite all the negative things people throw at him, he was still an effective and "good" president. :)

So now I still have some stuff to work on, like our group paper for ES 10 and some stuff for Ma 11. :)

*i should stop placing nonsense subjects here...*

The Nanzan University students had left and went back to Japan this afternoon. Just now, I got an email from Fr. Philip saying that they have arrived already. I asked him for their email address, especially Maki's so that I can still remain in touch with all 6 of them. I'll definitely miss all of them :)

I have here a picture of me and Maki, taken during the farewell celebration that we had for them last friday: (Maki [left], me [right]).

I really got to know a lot about Maki-chan. She was able to attend 3 GLAY concerts already, but now she told me that she is not a big fan of GLAY anymore as she was before. But still, she likes them. She's also a fan of Tomoya Nagase, and we both love "Mukudono!" a lot! :) I'll definitely miss her. At least I can still get to be in touch with her, hopefully she does send me an email like she told me she would.

Yesterday I got from my aunt stacks of mail that have piled up for me. I ask my friends to send packages to her house instead of mine because she can pick it up from the PO for me. Miyu-chan sent me a copy of GLAY's BLUE JEAN single plus a necklace, a keitai strap, and some gifts as her gift for me. Sayuri-chan sent me the regular edition of Keigo Atobe's "Hametsu he no Rondo" CD. I already have the limited edition, but I don't think she knew it. But I remember that the regular edition also had a bonus that the limited edition does not have. I still haven't opened it from its shrink wrap yet though.

So tomorrow would be the start of another school week, and here's a rundown of what to expect for the week:
>> ES 10 Quiz
>> English 13 Long Exam
>> PE 130 Practical Test # 4
>> Block BB Dinner (now this is something to look forward to)
>> Work on the ES 10 Paper
>> ES 12 Long Exam (I'm starting not to like this subject... lab...)

I'm not sure if I missed out on anything, but I'm pretty much sure that's that. I'm not gonna sleep yet, since I want to watch the "HYDE Concert Tour -666-" concert performance Solo live in Nippon Budokan being aired on NHK tonight. While waiting for it, I'll just study for the ES 10 quiz I have tomorrow.

Say Cheese!, Shirota, Tamaki-chan!, Yuu!~, Tezuka Kunimitsu

It's raining hard again

I slept very early last night, like around 7:30 pm and then woke up at around 11:30 pm because there was a brown out. The rains were still heavy so I was half-expecting that there wouldn't be any more classes the following day.

It was 4 am when the announcement came that there wouldn't be any classes for elementary and highschool students. CHED's announcement didn't come, and no one from their office was answering the calls of the radio stations to inquire if college students had classes. Most universities made the announcements themselves, like CEU, UST etc. Ateneo didn't announce anything over by the radio, but even if there wasn't any announcement, my mom decided not to let me go to school (because what happened to me yesterday might happen again) anymore. I checked with my friends and they weren't going to school anymore too. Then at around 6:30 am I received a text from Clarisse, and the Sanggunian was spreading the announcement that classes were suspended for the day.

At least they came with the announcement early. Yesterday, Katipunan was flooded already and the rains weren't showing any signs of stopping when the announcement came, and most of us were already in school. My mom told me to stay with Nikki at his condo unit for a while because all the major roads leading to AdMU were flooded so there was no way they would be able to fetch me. When the rain finally died down a bit and the flood subsided, Vany, James, Patis and I went to McDonalds (Yukari gave us a ride) and ate lunch there. Nikki would meet us there before we go to his place. James left early and then the rest of us just waited for Nikki to finish eating his meal, and then we were off.

I had to stop by at National Bookstore to buy some supplies, namely ballpens, a mechanical pencil, gel pens and metal pens. They went with me and we did a lot of looking through all the ballpens they had. Vany and Nikki took their time in testing almost all of the ballpens they had. I always hold on to my preference of buying only PILOT or FASTER brands of pens, so I had my items fast. But I did join them in testing out the pens on the scratch papers. My cellphone died (no more battery) so I gave my mom Nikki's number if she needed to call me. She did call his number and she told me that she would be fetching me already since the roads have cleared a bit. The flood was still deep but it was already "passable" for our Pajero to go through. I just thanked Nikki for accompanying us, and then my ride came.

When I went home, the house was in a huge mess. Since the creek outside our house overflowed (because the Marikina River overflowed... we passed by there and the water level was beyond critical point, it was really scary) so some of the water went in our backyard and the kitchen. All the houses in our street experienced the same thing, so my parents and the house maids had to bring all our stuff to the second floor of the house for a while. When the rain stopped, we cleared the water out and it was only this morning that we were able to place all the things back to where they belong again.

But now, the rain has been growing stronger again, and the weather forecast was that the supertyphoon would be expected to go in the Philippine Area of Responsibility this afternoon, if not then it won't pass through and it will head for Taiwan directly. I haven't heard any news yet about the typhoon on TV as of now, but I hope we would be spared. I am actually looking forward to go to school tomorrow, minus the fact that I would have exams for English, Environmental Science and Filipino class ^^.

ack! It's been a while since I last wrote an entry here. I guess I've been too caught up with a number of things that I hadn't had the time to go and update here.

I do have one more blog up, this one is hosted over in blogspot. click here if you want to wander over there to take a look. I have a Toshiya layout up, with the title "grotesque". It's an adjective I thought up that encapsulates a whole lot of stuff about the DeG bassist.

College Life has so far been okay for me. But then as time passes, the demand from me also increases. My ES 10 groupmates and I are currently working on our paper, and we aim to get an A on it, so we're doing all that we can to make that possible. Since I went home early today, I was able to accomplish a lot of stuff, like 3 papers for Filipino and I studied in advance for a Quiz in English 11 (about Logical Fallacies) and read the assigned story for English 13 (which is "A long walk to forever").

The photo album and the video footage of my debut came in today, and we watched it. We were laughing at certain scenes (like the opening part and the 18 roses part, particular dances only). If my mom will allow it, I'll bring the album to school to show it to my friends. But it's kinda heavy, so I'm not sure if I could bring it. I'll probabbly bring it on a Tuesday or Thursday, since I only bring things for 2 subjects during those days.

~good morning~

I hate getting up in the morning being woken up by the loud music coming from your neighbors, ESPECIALLY when you don't like the music they're playing. Yung mga typo ng mga kantang "gusto" ni James... hehehe...ayan tuloy, si James na kaagad pumapasok sa isip ko pag nakakarining ako ng mga ganung kanta...

FYC elections today and tomorrow, and I've finally made up my mind on who to vote for the other positions. Since it was initiated, the only one I knew for sure to vote for was Nikki :). I now know who to vote for SOSS Executive and SOSS Legislative. And of course, the block rep! pero usapan mag-aabstain diba? ... lol... pambihirang block rep yun, nang-iiwan! j/k!

I had fun yesterday definitely, lalu na during our ES lab, binigyan kami ng "vacation" ni Dr. Claveria" . Aside from that, nagkatuwaan na kaming buong block sa may Catwalk part malapit sa SEC-C bldg. Todo laugh-trip, tapos may pina-analyze pa ko kay Ramlo na gumugulo sa kin for the past few days... since last week pa actually. Sayang nga lang wala pa nun sina James, Patis at Vany. Siguro, todo sabog na kaming lahat nun! And oo nga pala, game ako dun sa pinaplano ninyong dinner with Joboy, Cong, EN at Vevs sa may Katipunan next week. Friday diba, from 6-8?

We also had our guidance exams part II yesterday and sobra ung mga questions! kaya sobrang tawa ng tawa kami nung nag-tetest kami.

I will be getting the pictures from my debut party last Saturday later this afternoon. There'll be around 220 pictures! If anyone wants a copy, just let me know. I can't lend you the negatives because the studio owns them technically, so just tell me and I'll ask my mom to have it copied for you.

There's another plan for a group study tomorrow for the Math 11 midterms we're going to have from 6-8 pm in the evening. :)

Singit lang: I re-watched the tape I had recorded from WOWOW of the GLAY Expo 2004 concert, and even if a lot of Hisashi fans were dismayed at his lack of enthusiasm on the conert, I still think he did great, and I still liked the set of clothes he wore during the event, even if it wasn't as eccentric as beore..

I'm in the middle of studying for my Math 11 exams tomorrow, but I'm taking a short break. Too much studying can really be bad for anyone.

Finally my debut party is done and over with. I'll post up pictures when they're available :) They're still with the photographer (and so is the video). I'm really not in the mood to post a detailed description of what happened then (I'm a bit tired..), so I'll just post it up with the pictures.

Even if the day seemed to be so stressful, something still managed to make me happy :)
1. I got a gift from Kanako-chan and her okaasan
2. My friend gave me her limited edition copy of HYDE's album

And as soon as my tests this week are over, I'm going to talk to my mom and Kanako-chan about the GLAY concert tour this October-November. If I meet my target of going to the Osaka Jo Hall performance, that would be great! But if not, ANY performance would be great (just as long as I can hear Hisashi's guitars live, it's fine with me).

thank you~!

Thank you to everyone who greeted me today! Yup, I've turned 18 today, and right now I can do a lot of things 'coz I'm of legal age already :)

Kuya Pits was the very first one who greeted me, he actually called me on my cellphone at 12:00 Midnight, but since I was dozing off already, I wasn't able to answer it. He just sent me an SMS message greeting me a happy birthday.

So everyone in my house greeted me, except for my dad. I knew he forgot about it because my party would be on Saturday. But I knew my mom reminded him through SMS and he greeted me when I was walking towards the CTC building already :) But he made up for it, because when he got home, he gave me a bouquet of flowers (18 red roses).

James didn't forget too, and he gave me Usher's new CD "Confessions". He said he wasn't sure if I'd like it, because he asked my friend Kat to ask me what kind of music I listen to aside from J-music. I told him of Avril Lavigne, The Calling, Matchbox 20, Spin Doctors etc... but he told me he didn't get me any of those 'coz he figured out that I would have had their CDs if I liked them a lot. It's true, so he just got me the CD, and I like it a lot. I was actually planning to buy it myself one of these days.

Ces and Erys gave me white roses, while my blockmates (Block BB) gave me a white stuffed teddy bear. It wasn't their official gift, they just wanted to give me something today in the meantime before Saturday. ^_^

Carmela came by my house, and I was really surprised! I didn't have her gift with me now, because I asked someone to give it for me to her. I was really touched, I mean, I haven't seen much of my best friend for a while already. Being best friends , having the same birthday can be cute, but we can't attend each other's birthday parties. We can't hold it as one because our families want to spend it differently, so that leaves us with not being able to go. :(

When I got home, my dad told me that we'll be eating out for dinner. We went to our favorite Steak House in Libis, and went home straight afterwards (my sister has to wake up early tomorrow because she still has classes). So with approximately less than 3 hours till my birthday is over, I'm spending it checking my email, updating my LJ, and later on studying for a Math quiz tomorrow. And if I can squeeze it in, I'll start working on my term paper for English 11 too.

Say Cheese!, Shirota, Tamaki-chan!, Yuu!~, Tezuka Kunimitsu

I've spent part of my day with the Nanzan University students once more, and this time they had the chance to join a part of my PE 130 dance class :) They learned some basic steps of the Swing, and according to Ayaka and Sonia, they enjoyed it very much. And I'm very happy that they're really going to my debut party this Saturday. Fr. Philip told me that it would be great for them to go because a debut party isn't really practiced in Japan, and I think the tradition is only practiced here.

And I was able to finally memorize all their names too! Yesterday I only knew Maki and Yuka, and now I know everyone! Hopefully I can get the chance to spend some time with them tomorrow, like when I give them (c/o Fr. Philip) the invitation for my party this comming Saturday.

Two things for tomorrow:
1. It's my birthday! (yay!~ but...I'm turning older and older....)
2. The official release of the new GLAY single: Blue Jean

Thank you for everyone who greeted me in advance! Too bad I'll be spending the afternoon of my birthday studying for a quiz in Math 11 :(.

so happy~~

I just got home from attending the birthday party of my parents' godson and goddaughter.

A lot of things to be happy about:
1. My birthday's next week
2. Ateneo won today's game against Adamson
3. I'm happy that the timer rec on my VCR worked, and I was able to watch the remaining parts of the Expo 2004 when we went out.

What I thought about the concert... )

O_O.

So the WOWOW coverage is a live coverage :) And I'm watching it right now, and am recording it on vhs tape.

I was clearing out my drawers earlier looking for my clearbook and I came across my DRIVE CD. When I saw it, it was like, 'When was the last time I listened to this?' ^^''. So right now, I'm listening to it :) Maybe I'll burn a copy and place it in my car later on. I don't place original CDs on my car CD changer, because I don't want to risk getting it damaged.

I'm so pissed with my dad again right now. My mom called me up a little while ago and she told me to add three people to my guest list (all of which are my dad's guest), and ask my dad to whom to address the invitation to. As I placed the phone down, my dad came up and I asked him, and he told me not to make them yet. I was thinking like </i>'Heller?? My debut is next week already, so you have to give the invitations, like right now?'</i>. I asked again, and told him that I can do it now, but he sounded irritated and told me not to do it yet. As much as I wanted to answer him back at that very moment, I didn't. I'm getting tired of this attitude of his, and I think my mom is too. I called up my mom to tell her about it, because she might think that I didn't do it on purpose, and she was pissed off as well. Who wouldn't be anyway?

I just had to get that out, so for the rest of the day I'll just try not to think about it. There are other things to worry about aside from my dad's "annoying" attitude, like my practical test in PE 130 and that Ms. Guillermo would be giving out the results of the Ma 11 long exam we had like, 2 weeks ago? I'm hoping that I didn't fail it, and that I'll be getting a good grade for both.

^_^

Because the ADMU GS and HS had a half-day schedule today, as usual, it was really traffic inside (and along Katipunan too) Ateneo at 12:30 NN. The worst part was that it had started raining again, and I didn't want to get "stranded" in school just like what had happened to some of my friends last Friday (a 30 minute ride from school going home has lasted 6 hours because of the heavy traffic buildup in the Ateneo, UP and Miriam area) so I had to drive fast and carefully at the same time.

Here's one happy thought though. So far, Ateneo hasn't lost a game for this UAAP season. The game yesterday was good [Ateneo vs. UP], but the sad thing was Larry Fonacier had incurred an injury (from what I have heard, he now has ACL), and with that kind of injury I'm not sure if he can play for the rest of the season. :(

I just had my ES 10 Long Exam a while ago and I couldn't really judge if it was hard or easy. I think it's not hard, or easy, it's just tricky. Memorizing the terms wouldn't get you anywhere with the type of exam Dr. Perez gives, but I felt alright afterwards, I'm not really too nervous with the results. She checks tests fast so I think on Wednesday I'll be getting to see the results. Mrs. Santos has promised us (for the nth time) that she would finally be giving us back the results of the tests and quizzes we have had during Filipino on Wednesday, and she's giving Friday as a free cut! (yay!)

I got an update from the ASEC about the "buddy system" that they would be having for the next set of exchange students coming from Macau, Stanford and Nanzan University. There are six Japanese students, and I've been given the priviledge to be the "buddy" of one of them. Erys signed up for both Nanzan and Stanford, but since she is going to be a buddy of a Stanford student already, she wasn't given the opportunity to be one of those for Nanzan. She was given a slot for the ones coming from Macau. The students from Nanzan University (which is in Nagoya, Japan) would be coming in on August 1, and they'll be staying in Ateneo until the end of August. I'm looking forward to meet who my buddy will be :)

Today has been "normal" for me. Normal meaning: (for my standards)

4:45 AM --> wake up call
5:40 AM --> leave the house, drive to AdMU
6:10 AM --> arrive in AdMU, chat with Sybil at the Catwalk
7:30 AM --> start of classes [Eng 11 and Eng 13]
9:30 AM --> break # 1, "tambay" with my course blockmates @ the cafeteria
10:30 AM --> classes again [ES 10 and FIL 11]
12:30 NN --> break # 2, went to KFC Katipunan for lunch (me, Leo, Audrey, Pat, Ai, Yukari, Patis, Ramlo, Gino and his GF).
1:30 PM --> classes again [INTAC @ Bellarmine..]
2:30 PM --> drive home :)

That's basically what I did the whole day. And the ones in "bold" are the things that I have enjoyed doing very much. Being with my blockmates can really brighten up my day.
